Yes!
23/05/2005
Well last Friday I did it; I passed my unrestricted motorbike license on the second attempt. I didn't ride that well, in fact I rode much better the time they failed me. But none of that matters now, I am legal to ride any capacity of bike with a pillion anywhere I like.

And, yes, I have bought a big bike. After weeks and weeks of deliberation I settled on the Suzuki SV650s. I collect it on Wednesday and that seems like an age from now. Remember when you were little and Christmas seemed like it was a lifetime away even on the day before Christmas eve? Well that's how I feel today.

When I get my hands on it I'll post some pictures here.

Congratulations Matt, you are now a fully fledged member of one of the most hated groups on the road ;-) Get out there and give them and their little tin boxes utter hell!

Just to put my grown-up head on for a minute, don't forget new tyres take a couple of hundred miles to scrub in and be careful on left handers.

In the immortal words of the amazing spiderman:
'With great power comes great responsibilty'.

Thanks Sparx, that's a really good point about the new tyres, I will be carefull. Plus of course I have to run the engine in: I'm not allowed to rev above 5000 for 500 miles. My boss is so kewl he's letting me have a jolly out to our northern dealerships on Thursday, so I'm getting a full day in the saddle almost straight away!

Yeah you be careful out there bud. I cant afford to fly home to scrape you off the tarmac yet. Im getting tempted to buy one myself out here, but saaras reigning me in. Which is probably a good thing given my history on push bikes

Mick
well done for passing, and double well done for choosing the right bike.
There's loads of info over at www.sv650.org which is a UK site or there's the US site www.svrider.com
The Sv is not a mad all or nothing type bike but take it easy anyway, watch out for the twats who still think it's ok to natter away on the mobile while driving.
